India in Cricket World

India have won the CB Series outplaying Australia in every department of the game in the finals. The tri-series must be ranked as one of the toughest tournaments in the game, alongside the World Cup and Champions Trophy. Most keen observers of the game would agree that if the umpiring in the Test series had been competent, India would have at least drawn the series if not won it. Clearly, India are now at par with the world champions, if not better than them. It would make the trans-pacific rivalry the premier contest in the game. India had also won the Twenty20 championship in South Africa, and the Under-19 team has recently won the junior world title in Kuala Lumpur. Have India rewritten the new world order in cricket? Is this good run a short, passing phase or a sign of things to come? Most importantly, can India win the 2011 World Cup? --> NDTV

(Reuters) - India ended their troubled tour of Australia on a high note when they beat the hosts by nine runs on Tuesday to win their best-of-three finals series 2-0.
Sachin Tendulkar scored a superb 91 and paceman Praveen Kumar went on to capture four wickets as the tourists followed up Sunday's six-wicket win in Sydney with a thrilling victory at the Gabba in Brisbane.
It was a sweet victory for the Indians after they lost the test series 2-1 and have been embroiled in a long-running feud with their opponents all summer.

Tendulkar inspires amazing series win
In the final installment of its 29-year existence, a series that has become a nostalgic part of Australia's summer culture came to a climactic end with a fitting humdinger at the Gabba

Credit goes to the selectors of Indian team. They are picking players based on talent alone. Thanks to rural India, players like R.P, Praveen, Dhoni, Chawla are able to rub shoulders with the city boys like Uthappa, Yuvraj & forming a formidable mix. The rural boys might not be suave, like their city counterparts but they let their true grit & determination do the talking.
